Sarasota, Florida's Lido Beach Restaurant's Lobster Rolls are Freakin' Delicious!
Updated: Mar 7, 2019
This review is going to be short and sweet, because we went there on a mission with just one thing on our minds: a delicious Lobster Roll and we weren't disappointed in the slightest!
Lido Beach Restaurant
400 Benjamin Franklin Dr, Sarasota, FL 34236
My family loves seafood and if you put a lobster roll in front of any one of us, we will inhale it like we were condemned prisoners. Lobster is awesome. Lobster on a buttery toasted bun with a mix of light mayonnaise (not low fat, but rather not dripping in mayo), maybe some celery and some salt and pepper, is positively devine in its simplicity. We are always on hunt for a good, inexpensive lobster roll, so when I heard about the Lido Beach Restaurant located right next to the Community Pool, right next to the Lido Beach Resort, I knew we had to give it a try. The reviews on Yelp were solid and they were only $13.
What? I KNOW!!! $13 for a lobsta roll? I am going to be all over that like a duck on a June Bug!
Honestly, if you don't know where it is you are looking for, Google Map it because it is in a very nondescript one story building and honestly reminds me more of the old concession stands located in a local roller rink than a bonafide restaurant, but Sweet Baby Ray, these Lobster Rolls kicked major ass!!!
Served on a buttered toasted bun, the one in the picture below is what I had leftover after eating the other half. I added pepper to mine, but that is a crap ton of lobster. And it was SO yummy and fresh tasting. I love how they served it in the bun on top of some light shredded lettuce, because that totally prevents the bun from getting soggy and was a really great idea, because not only is it practical, but it adds a different texture to the roll and the lettuce compliments the nature of what is essentially lobster salad.
We ordered 3 of these, plus an order of french fries that were large enough for the three of us to split and brought it back to our hotel to eat. Our total was $42 with tax. Yeah, it's a little more than the average lunch, but I dare you to find another place you can get a lobster roll in Sarasota this quick, this good and not have to change out of your bathing suit to do so.
Be sure to stop by and grab a bite to eat. The service was fast, friendly and the lobster rolls were rock solid delicious!
